February 27 Game

I will publish the post about our tournament, but am still waiting to get some stats.             On the 27th, my JV team played the Legacy Christian Academy Eagles. The first inning was scoreless for both sides. I was batting second, and we were guest. After getting to a 3-0 count, there was a called strike and two foul balls. Then I walked. I was the only baserunner of the inning for our team. I started at catcher, and the pitcher threw well.     We fell behind 6-0 in the second inning due to some unfortunately placed hits and errors. But, in the top of the third, we capitalized on the fatiguing pitcher, scoring five runs. I walked on four pitches and scored a run (my first of the year).     We held them scoreless in the bottom of the third, and scored two more runs in the fourth. I walked for a third time on 6 pitches. After the third walk, I threw my bat over my shoulder and slowly took off my elbow guard while walking leisurely to first base. Tomorrow Awaits...

Tomorrow my team begins a tournament that runs from, well today I guess, through Saturday. This will be hectic because we're getting at least three games in that time, and we don't have enough pitching for that. I expect that I will pitch, and there is a chance I will be pitching against a friend of mine, which would be fun, but he's, let's just say a bit more experienced at pitching than I am. Nevertheless, it should be fun, except for the fact that I'm going to be at the fields for 10 hours tomorrow, and we may be playing at nine in the morning the next day.

February 16th Game (Start of the Season)

Well, my real JV season started on the 16th with a game against a team called the Atlas Rattlers. We were guest. I started in the outfield, and nothing happened in the first inning. I was second in the batting order, and lined into a double play (sigh). The runner on first got the steal sign, and I hit a line drive that the third baseman lunged for and caught before throwing out my brother at first.      In the second inning, I was in rightfield again, and the only thing that happened was a single hit to me. I fielded the ball and threw it to third base. I hit again in the second inning, and popped out to the third baseman in foul territory. But, we scored 5 and were winning 6-2 after two.     In the third inning, we didn't score, and I went in to catch the new pitcher, who I'm basically the personal catcher for. Everything went well except for a few bad calls that ended up being a walk, and a missed frame that ended up being a passed ball. In my defense though, the batter
