JV Scouting Report

 Yesterday we played a new team known as the Cardinals. I started at catcher and did pretty well, although nothing particularly hard came my way. I came in to pitch in the fourth inning with two outs and the bases loaded while we were losing 7-2. I struck out the batter to end the inning. Our team proceeded to score two runs to make it 7-4. I came out again in the fifth, and struck out a guy, while the other two batters popped out and flew out. We then proceeded to score four more runs and the game ended with the greatest dive to home plate that I have ever seen (besides possibly Trea Turner) by one of my teammates. So I was the winning pitcher. While batting I went 0-2 with a groundout and foulout.

 Yesterday we played the same team that we beat 12-1. This time they threw a better pitcher. He was pretty good and probably threw 75 MPH. I batted sixth and had an RBI walk in the only plate appearance I had. The game was called early due to rain and a foul ball into the ump's throat, as we lost 7-1. 

 My team had a doubleheader on September 9th. In the first game, I played right and leftfield, and nothing happened there. While batting, I went 0-for-1 with a groundout and a walk as our team won 12-1. During the second game, I caught the 15-2 win and threw out two batters on dropped third strikes. Both of these pitches were breaking balls in the dirt. At the plate, I went 1-1 with a single, a walk, 2 runs, and 2 RBI (one coming on the single and the other on the walk). Granted, these teams were both young, and I expect the competition to get tougher as we face the older teams later in the season. Thank you for reading.
